According to “Canine Journal,” people in the United States experience about 4.5 million dog bites each year, on average. Of those bitten, more reported the bite from chihuahuas than any other breed.
Of the reported dog bites, fully 81 percent caused no injury or resulted in minor injuries that required no medical attention. There were approximately 78 million dogs in the United States in 2016.
