Which Florida city is nicknamed the “Magic City”?
Florida is certainly a unique place, but who knew one of its cities was magical? Actually, the name supposedly refers to Miami’s fast-growing development. Although Miami was officially incorporated as a city in 1896, it was home to native peoples and Spanish settlers who arrived in the 16th century. You’d think Bay Lake would be nicknamed the “Magic City.” After all, Bay Lake is home to the Magic Kingdom. Sources: Thrillist, City of Miami website
Miami is an international city at Florida’s southeastern tip. Its Cuban influence is reflected in the cafes and cigar shops that line Calle Ocho in Little Havana. On barrier islands across the turquoise waters of Biscayne Bay is Miami Beach, home to South Beach. This glamorous neighborhood is famed for its colorful art deco buildings, white sand, surfside hotels and trendsetting nightclubs.
